I have a recurring payment set up in PayPal. Why is Broad Universe sending me reminders to pay dues?We are no longer use PayPal for payments from within the United States and Canada, and we paused those recurring payments to Broad Universe. You can pay directly through the Broad Universe website. And when you do, you can set up a recurring payment with AffiniPay, our new payment service.
Am I paying twice because of my recurring payment in PayPal? You aren't. That's because in mid-January 2022, we paused most of the recurring PayPal payments. Follow these directions to cancel your recurring PayPal payment to Broad Universe.
How do I check to see if I have "automatic renewal" set up in AffiniPay? To check to see if you have set up an "automatic renewal" in AffiniPay, BU's new payment system from mid-January 2022 to present, follow these steps:
Log into the Broad Universe website
Select the head-and-shoulder icon (upper right)
Select "View Profile" from the icon's menu (upper right)
Under "Membership level," look for "Automatic renewal (recurring payments)" and the button "Stop Recurring Payments"
I live outside the U.S. and Canada and have a recurring PayPal payment?The treasurer will update your expiration date after we receive your payment. These updates are done by hand, rather than automatically. There might be a delay of up to 7 days. Don't worry, we set your renewal dates to take that into account. More questions? Can I set up reccurring payments in the new system? Yes, you can. When you are making your annual dues payment, click Pay recurring invoice and follow the prompts. (You can find all the directions for setting up recurring AffiniPay payments here.)
Why did you switch from PayPal to AffiniPay? Our new website, database and payment system came as a package with great tech support and other options we didn't have previously. Our previous database was labor intensive had to be updated by hand. Remaining with PayPal would have required paying additional fees. We still use PayPal for international Broads and for the occasional business transactions. (The treasurer updates international Broads renewal dates by hand to avoid the fee.)

How do I reset my password?
In the upper right corner of the Broad Universe website, select the head-and-shoulders icon in the upper right corner (gray or turquoise.)
Click login.
Click forgot password.
Use the email that you signed up with.
You'll receive an email with a prompt to change your password. If you can't remember which email address, contact the Treasurer.
Create a password and click SAVE (black box.)
How do I pay online if I live in Canada or the United States?Follow these directions:
Select the head-and-shoulders icon in the upper right corner (gray or turquoise depending whether or not you are logged in.)
Select View Profile
In your Profile, you'll find a charcoal box with a renewal date. (It may help to look for "Renewal due on​")
Select the charcoal box.
Begin renewal process using a debit card or credit card.
If you want, you can set up a recurring payment. (It's entirely up to you, some people find it easier to not have to worry.) FYI, Broad Universe doesn't keep credit/debit card information.
How do I pay if I live in another country outside of Canada or the United States: You have two options:
Email the treasurer and ask to be invoiced via PayPal.
Send your dues directly via your PayPal account using the Send Money option to money@broaduniverse.org and set up a recurring payment if you want. The Treasurer will renew your Support within 7 days after receiving an email notice of your payment.
Why can't I pay in person with cash or check? Broad Universe doesn't always offer dealers room tables at each convention. Unless we have a sales table, we can't accept cash or checks.
How do I pay with a check? By mail. We can only accept personal or cashiers checks from United States financial institutions. We can't accept cash by mail. Please email the treasurer letting them know to expect your dues.The Treasurer will renew your Support within 7 days after receiving your dues in the mail. Mail your check to the following address.

Why does it take the treasurer 7 days, if it's PayPal or a check? The treasurer makes every effort to update accounts upon arrival of payments from PayPal or mailed checks. However, like all Broad Universe Motherboard members, Treasurer is a volunteer.
