Tacoma WA USA http://www.jaynefury.com I was born in suburban NY, I moved West because I’m claustrophobic. I’m left handed, I reckoned the left coast would work out. I’ve lived out here since I finished uni where I studied modern language to be a teacher. I did a year in Italy for that at the American University of Rome. I first moved to the desert Southwest which was lovely but hot. Damn hot. Now I’m in the damp and temperate Pacific Northwest where I hike whenever I can and keep chickens on my little urban “farm”. I’m a graphic designer by trade and do all of my own book covers. Factoids: I had a lunar lander on my 7th birthday cake because the men had walked on the moon only the day before… for the first time. This Christmas my grown children got me Star Trek admiral pips. TNG, in case you were wondering. I have a strong sense of whimsy reflected by the Star Trek garden gnomes that sit on my desk reminding me to write or die. The gnome Gorn is especially convincing. I have an obsession with colored pens. I was once a personal chef. I blog as often as I can about women and archetypes in a series called Femme Friday (jaynefury.com) and invite other authors to guest and talk about their strong female characters. Check us out on Fridays at the blog. In 2013 I walked from Léon to Santiago de Campostela, Spain. I did it again in the Spring of 2015 and walked from St Jean Pied de Port, France back to Santiago. It’s a long walk along the ancient pilgrimage trail of St James. I have been gathering materials for a historical romance series set along The Way. Also, it’s a great excuse to eat jamon and cheese all day and not gain weight. jaynefury@gmail.com 1
Renton Washington United States http://www.dreamfarmer.net/ Chrysoula Tzavelas went to twelve schools in twelve years while growing up as an Air Force brat, and she never met a library she didn't like. She now lives near Seattle with cats, dogs, adults and children. They graciously allow her a few hours to write everyday and one day she'll have time to do other things again, too. She likes combed wool, bread dough, and gardens, but she also likes technology, games and space. This probably goes hand in hand with liking Jane Austen, Terry Pratchett and Iain Banks. dreamfarmer@gmail.com 1

Melisse Aires Casper WY United States https://melisseairesbooks.com Take a shy bookworm from Montana. Hand her a stack of her much older brother’s sci-fi and fantasy novels, James Bond books and horror comics. Later, introduce Barbara Cartland and the world of romance fiction. Get her a teaching job or two in authentic, one room Montana schools, ala Laura Ingels Wilder. Marry her off to a great guy, move her to a big city in Tornado Alley, then pop three daughters out of her in twenty two months(one set of identical twins). Then, make her a jinx–every great genre TV show she loves gets the ax– Beauty and the Beast, Dark Angel–and Buffy and Spike never have a happy ending! She gets upset about no romance in the world, and fires up to write her own stories with happy endings. Throw this all together into a small house in Wyoming, along with a small bouncy dog named Baxter and too many cats, shake constantly and pour it out onto a computer keyboard. There! You have me, Melisse Aires. melisseaires@gmail.com 1

Olivia Berrier New Cumberland PA United States https://www.oliviaberrier.com/ Olivia Berrier is often clueless and always shoeless. She left behind many footprints at Hollins University in Virginia, where she studied Creative Writing and Mathematics. After college, her bare feet have carried her through many experiences, but her life remains anchored by writing. Olivia writes fantasy fiction, sometimes with a mathematical inclination, and has been dropping stories like breadcrumbs across the Internet since 2007. When she is not writing (and sometimes also when she is writing) Olivia is in love with candles, tea, yoga, running, snail-mail correspondence, napping, and memorizing the decimals of Pi. She also loves connecting with people who share her love for the written word and the singular magic that it creates. olivia.berrier@yahoo.com 1

Candace Carrabus Silex MO US http://www.candacecarrabus.com Carrabus writes from the Lincoln County, Missouri farm she shares with her husband and daughter. A scoliosis diagnosis at age 11 changed her life. A horse lover from a young age, she signed up for riding lessons and learned much more than posting trot. With quiet power, horses provided comfort and a sympathetic ear, never judging or poking fun at her cumbersome back brace. Those years, though often difficult, taught Candace the value of persistence, the healing power of believing in oneself, and how strength can be gained through kindness. Her stories are imbued with the irresistible wonder, mystery, and solace her equine friends have provided. candace@candacecarrabus.com 1

Mary Jones Auckland Auckland New Zealand http://www.marybrockjones.com/ Welcome to my worlds. I write science fiction and New Zealand-set historical romance novels, tales of adventure in the far off days of the gold rushes. A time when dreams reigned supreme. and the only costs of victory were hardship and hope. My romances always end happily, even if the journey can get quite bumpy. As for my science fiction: they may or may not have a romantic element, and the ending is what it is. Some are dark, some not so dark. Some short, some long; some with a happy ending, others definitely not. For the future is another world, infinitely variable, and so is the imagination. When anything is possible, darkness or light come as they may. maryjoj53@gmail.com 1
